Role overview
We are a young, human-sized startup seeking a dynamic and multi-skilled individual, able to navigate a fast-growing environment. We are looking for an intern for 6 months. As a Founder’s Executive, you will be the right hand to our C-Levels and a key player in driving strategic initiatives across commercial development, production, fundraising, and project management. You will be exposed to high-level decision-making, investor relations, international partnerships, and the next-gen material ecosystem. You will also work closely with the R&D team to accelerate the time-to-market of our new materials. For this role, an expertise in next-gen materials is a strong nice-to-have. Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Oversee multiple projects from conception through commercialization.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, potential clients, partners and emerging trends.
- Prepare presentations for key meetings with partners and public institutions.

Commercial and Fundraising support:
- Participate in preparing investor materials (business plans, pitch decks, updates, data room).

We are looking for a fibre science intern for 6 months, starting from May 2026, with a solid grounding in polymer chemistry, fibre formation, and material characterisation. You will work directly within our core R&D team, contributing to the engineering roadmap for SeiFibre™ — a proprietary marine-derived biopolymer fibre with distinctive functional properties and a unique sustainability profile.

This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate in fibre science, polymer engineering, materials science, or textile chemistry who wants to work on a real material challenge — not a simulation. You will be involved in experiments that directly shape the fibre's commercial readiness.

Responsibilities – What you will do:

Fibre formation & wet spinning:

• Support the development and optimisation of the wet-spinning process for our biopolymer dope, including dope preparation, coagulation bath chemistry, and draw ratio studies.

• Assist in evaluating the effect of spinning parameters (extrusion rate, bath composition, temperature) on nascent fibre structure and mechanical properties.

• Document process windows and identify parameter sensitivities relevant to scale-up.

Crosslinker & additive evaluation:

• Run structured lab trials on crosslinking agents and polymer blends targeting improved wet tensile strength, elongation, and dimensional stability.

• Support dose-response characterisation for priority additive candidates using standardised tensile testing (ISO 2062) and wet/dry strength protocols.

• Contribute to freedom-to-operate screening alongside the technical team.

Material characterisation:

• Perform fibre property measurements: tenacity, elongation at break, dtex, moisture regain, crimp count, and Martindale abrasion where applicable.

• Support SEM imaging, FTIR, or TGA analysis to correlate polymer structure with macroscopic performance.

• Maintain organised lab notebooks and data logs for traceability.

COA & supplier data management:

• Assist in reviewing and validating incoming raw material Certificates of Analysis against internal specification sheets.

• Help track and flag certification gaps across the fibre's raw material supply chain.

Technical documentation:

• Translate bench-level results into structured technical summaries for the R&D pipeline.

• Contribute to our internal digital tool for tracking fibre recipes, crosslinker candidates, and dose-response models.

Qualifications:

You will work across our three divisions, gaining hands-on experience with the full fibre-to-fabric pipeline. This role is ideal for someone studying or recently graduated in textile technology, materials science, or textile engineering who wants to see how specifications translate into real-world fabric performance.

Responsibilities – What you will do:

Yarn specification & spinning:

• Work on SeiYarn™ to evaluate spinning methods (ring, open-end, air jet, filament systems) and understand how fibre properties — staple length, dtex, tenacity, elongation — influence yarn quality across different count ranges.

Fabric development:

• Support the development of our fabrics collection, translating yarn specs into knit and woven fabric constructions. You will help assess fabric hand-feel, drape, pilling resistance, and structural performance for specific end uses (jersey, shirting, denim, activewear, suiting).

Protocols & colors work:

• Assist in developing and documenting dye protocols for SeiFibre™, marine biomass fibre. This includes lab-dip preparation, shade matching, wash fastness testing, and understanding how fibre composition affects dye uptake and colorfastness.

Technical documentation:

• Contribute to our internal specification sheets, processing guidelines, and quality benchmarks. You will learn to translate bench-level results into production-ready documentation.

End-use mapping:

• Help match fibre/yarn/fabric configurations to fashion end uses, building the knowledge base that connects raw material choices to final garment performance.

Mills & lab visits:

• Accompany the team on visits to spinning mills, knitting/weaving units, and dye houses to observe production processes first-hand.

Qualifications:

After developing our materials, we patent them. The mass scale production of our materials is not in-house, we work closely with partners that have their own production facilities. This role will include giving instructions to our production partners. Before the go-to-market of a new material, a series of assessments have to be performed and certifications have to be obtained, and your role will ensure that this phase will work out as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:
Material development:
- Lead the research and development of new bio-based materials, like fiber, leather alternatives, polymers and other sustainable alternatives.
- Formulate and test new compositions for leather alternatives, bio plastics, rubber alternatives and ocean fibers.
- Explore scalable methods to process and refine marine or plant-based raw materials and extraction and purification techniques.
- Iterate and improve our current products to industry standard.
